Costa Smeralda (engl. Emerald Coast) in the north eastern part of Sardinia is the most famous coast stretch of the Mediterranean island because of its magnificent sea, the white sandy coves and beaches surrounded by a beautiful Mediterranean vegetation and – last but not least - because of its high density of luxury resorts and hotels visited by national and international VIPs every year especially in summer.

The Emerald coast has an area of about 30 square kilometers and a length of 55 km, and the main localities are Arzachena, Olbia, Porto Cervo, Liscia di Vacca, Capriccioli and Romazzino. The airport of Olbia is about 30 km away.
