Arbus - Medio Campidano (MD)
The community of Arbus with its approx. 7.000 inhabitants is located about 60 km northwest of the island's capital Cagliari and makes part of the province of Medio-Campidano on the west coast of Sardinia.
The sea is in airline about 15 km away and the famous beaches like the ones of Marina di Arbus, Piscinas, Funtanazza and Scivu are reachable by winding roads which offers gorgeous panaoramic views. The coastline which includes tha fabulous Costa Verde (Green Coast) is about 47 km long and is confined in the north by Capo Frasca and in the south by Capo Pecora.
The region is famous for its wide sandy dunes intercalated by the typical maditerranean vegetation, like the ones of Piscinas, and the abbondaned mines. Some of them can be visited with guided tours.
