The position of the Antica Locanda

The authentic and very tasteful furnished B&B Antica Locanda is situated in Mandas, about 55 km north of Cagliari.

Mandas has about 5.000 habitants and is located about 490 m above mean sea level.

It is an ideal starting point to visit the Nuraghic monuments Su Nuraxi near Barumini and Arubia and to enjoy the landscape surrounding the reservoir of the Flumendosa lake.

In addition Mandas is one of the important stations of the Sardinian narrow gauge railway called Trenino Verde: the railroad lines Mandas – Arbatax and Mandas - Sorgono are active from the middle of June to the middle of September.

Worth a visit also the shady park Parco Aymerich at Laconi, crossed by a multitude of streams.

The B&B Antica Locanda

The two-storied building with charming inner court yard is dating back to the 16^th century and has been lovingly restored: original stone walls, wood-beamed ceilings and an internal courtyard are the results of a skilful renovation.

The accommodation combines for the best the fascination of the past with modern comfort and welcomes its guests in a charming ambience.

Also in the past an inn, the writer D.H. Lawrence stayed at the Locanda overnight with its wife in 1921.

The patio is equipped with chairs and tables and invites to relaxing stays.

On the ground floor are the reception, a TV room with comfortable sofas and a drawing room with open fireside.

On the 1st floor are the three guest rooms, all with matrimonial bed and private bathroom with shower and furnished tastefully with period furniture and decorated with Sardinian handicraft.

The 2 suites are situated on the ground and on the 1st floor.
