Holiday ideas Sardinia: Slow Tourism for more relax in contact with natiure

nature sea fun sardinia

Certainly, the western coast of Sardinia with locations such as Porto Alabe and S’Archittu and authentic villages such as Tresnuraghes and Riola Sardo is less touristy than other coastal areas with such famous seaside resorts as Chia, Villasimius, Costa Rei, Barisardo, Orosei, San Teodoro, Alghero and Costa Smeralda, but that also makes the difference if you are looking for experiential holidays and want to slow-down. Slow tourism wants to promote tourism in lesser known areas and regions in Italy.

Experiential Holidays in Sardinia – Discover the still unknown west coast of the holiday island

Porto Alabe and S’Archittu, located directly on the sea and with beautiful beaches, are inconspicuous and surely better known by locals than by tourists from abroad. You can not expect luxury here like on the Costa Smeralda, but these places are slowly awaken from their slumber and offer now apartments and holiday homes, classic B&Bs and family-run small hotels.

Tresnuraghes (south of Bosa) and Riola Sardo (west of Oristano), two villages not directly on the sea, give a more realistic insight into life in Sardinia. With their restaurants, bars, shops, agriturismi and hotels open all year round, they are ideal for round-trips, active cycling holidays, a gourmet trip (from slow tourism to slow food).
