In north-eastern Sardinia, near the Costa Smeralda, San Teodoro is the ideal place to discover beautiful beaches and to do quite a few activities. If you love water sports, here you will find several centres for diving, snorkelling or taking kitesurfing and windsurfing lessons.
San Teodoro is also ideal for experiencing the nightlife. The most beautiful beaches in San Teodoro
Characterised by marvellous beaches, the one that distinguishes this town is La Cinta, with its kilometres of white sand and blue sea suitable for everyone, from families with children to sports enthusiasts who will find here all the centres dedicated to water sports. This is the most popular beach, also thanks to the fact that it can be easily reached from the town centre by bus during the high season or by bike.
Not far away are the very famous beaches of north-eastern Sardinia such as Cala Brandinchi (known as Tahiti) and the beach of Capo Coda Cavallo. From San Teodoro there are also several excursions to the island of Tavolara, guardian of mysteries and ancient legends. Definitely worth seeing!

The blue of Ogliastra in your room: sleeping on the East Coast
In a magical setting between sea and mountains, the territory of Ogliastra amazes anyone visiting it for the first time. Famous for hosting some of the towns that are part of the Blue Zone – areas where the longevity rate is higher than the world average – Ogliastra offers marvellous scenery, demanding from tourists the attention and respect that this region deserves.
We also recommend it for a family holiday. Besides having wonderful beaches, the area is also suitable for children because it is full of attractions and activities that we are sure your child will love!
Towns to visit in the area
Conventionally divided into Upper and Lower Ogliastra, on a trip to this region you cannot miss visiting some of the municipalities. Start from Tortolì, the gateway to Ogliastra and visit the small town of Arbatax where you will find the Rocce Rosse natural monument, background of several famous films and the Rocce Rosse Blues music festival that takes place during the summer and gives space to several Afro-American blues and jazz singers.
Continue on to Arzana, a picturesque village famous for being one of the Blue Zone towns; stop here to learn the secrets of longevity that we can assure you never go without a good meal or a good wine!
For the sea, we recommend the famous beaches of Tertenia, Baunei and Santa Maria Navarrese; a must visit deserve Cala Goloritzè and Cala Mariolu. Finally, we suggest you don’t miss a visit to some of the area’s characteristic small towns such as Gairo, Ulassai, Bari Sardo and Jerzu, all of which have unique and authentic features.

Sleeping near the Costa Smeralda beaches and surroundings
The Costa Smeralda is the most exclusive coastline in Italy. Developed by Prince Aga Khan in 1962, it is the most luxurious beach destination on the island. Beloved by the international jet set, this area is surprising for the beauty and luxury that shines through everything. We recommend it if your idea of a holiday combines worldliness, emerald sea and enchanting nature.
Things to do for a VIP holiday on the ‘Costa’
The most famous place on the Costa Smeralda is undoubtedly Porto Cervo. A meeting point for all the rich and famous, it will not be difficult to spot them wandering the streets of the centre or in the bars of the piazzetta where they often go for a drink.
The harbour in the marina area is a real attraction with its luxurious yachts and the biggest sailing boats of emirs and Hollywood stars. Here if you have the right connections, or a big budget, don’t miss the exclusive VIP parties, movie-worthy!
During the day it will be very pleasant to sunbathe on some of the best beaches in northern Sardinia, among them the unmissable Grande and Piccolo Pevero, Principe beach, Cala di Volpe and Liscia Ruja beach.
Stars also love archaeology and culture, which is why we recommend going to Arzachena in whose surroundings you can admire several nuraghi and Neolithic remains such as the necropolis of Li Muri.
Finally, don’t forget to visit the other resorts on the coast and its surroundings: Cannigione, Baja Sardinia, Palau, San Pantaleo, La Maddalena and Porto Rotondo, which are truly exceptional!
Book Le Saline Villas in Palau
Just 200 metres from the sea, the residential complex Le Saline, with its independent villas, is located near Palau, from where several ferries depart for the island of La Maddalena. The strategic location of these villas makes it possible to reach the most beautiful beaches of the Costa Smeralda in just a few minutes or the islands of the La Maddalena archipelago, which can also be reached by the speedboat provided by the resort.
Wild Sulcis, sleeping on the west coast
In the south-west of Sardinia lies this uncontaminated and wild territory where you can have a completely relaxing holiday, enjoy wonderful spots such as the beaches of Buggerru, Cala Domestica, Masua, Scivu and Piscinas and discovering natural monuments such as the imposing Pan di Zucchero stacks and the Su Mannau and San Giovanni caves.
But Sulcis is much more, in fact here you can discover the country’s mining history by visiting the Montevecchio mine, the Porto Flavia harbour and Galleria Henry sites and taking a tour of Ingurtosu, in the municipality of Arbus. It is a small village that is now almost uninhabited and has a Wild West-like appearance; it was once the nerve centre and headquarters of the Montevecchio and Gennamari mines. A holiday in southern Sardinia must start with a visit to the regional capital, Cagliari. Between its colourful and historic quarters, the bustling port and the giant Poetto beach, the sunny city always manages to win everyone over!
Deciding which beach to stay near is a difficult choice. Our advice is to try both the west and the east of Cagliari and then decide on your favourite! To the west you will find the Caribbean beaches of Pula, Chia, Teulada and Porto Pino.
Then you will reach the coasts of Sulcis, in the far west, and visit the island of San Pietro and its Carloforte, a picturesque seaside village very famous for its beaches and tuna production to which a festival is dedicated every year towards the end of May.
East of Cagliari you will find the beautiful beaches of Villasimius, recognised as one of the most sustainable destinations in the world. Continue to Muravera and don’t miss the beautiful Punta Molentis, Cala Pira and Cala Sinzias, all with magnificent crystal-clear waters.
