Mamoiada in brief – tourist information and more
The 650-meter-high situated village Mamoiada in the inland of Sardinia, is surrounded by the mountains of Gennargentu and the Supramonte of Orgoloso. At the entrance there is the painted Menhir Sa Perda Pintà, also known as Stele di Boeli.
In January, a procession and solemn ceremony takes place in honor of Sant’Antonio Abate. A bonfire is lit on the main square of the village and typical pastries and wine are served.
Also worth a visit, the Museo delle Maschere, here carnival masks and clothing from the mediterranean are shown.
