Tortolì, situated on the eastern coast of Sardinia, is one of the capitals of the Province of Ogliastra (the other capital is Lanusei) and has about 10.000 inhabitants. Olbia in the north is about 170 km and Cagliari in the south is about 140 km away.
The hamlet of Arbatax with its little harbor belongs to Tortoli and is famous for the “Rocce Rosse”, the fascinating porphyry red rock formation near the harbor.
