PROGRAM
Day 1: Discover the Catalan Heart of Alghero
Arrive in Alghero independently.
If you don't arrive too late, you can unpack your suitcase and stroll through the beautiful center of Alghero on your own.

Day 2: Fascinating Caves, Prehistoric Nuraghes, and Excellent Wines
After breakfast, explore Alghero and its most beautiful sights, including the
Coral Museum, the Archaeological Museum, the Palmavera Nuraghe, the Anghelu Ruju Necropolis, and, of course, the famous Neptune's Grotto (Grotta di Nettuno), located on the characteristic Capo Caccia cliff in the
Porto Conte Nature Park. The cave is reached via a staircase carved into the rock face, with just over 650 steps. Those who wish can also take a boat to the grotto from the port in Alghero (with supplement).
A
wine tasting is planned near Alghero in the afternoon.

Day 3: Along the coast to the lagoon lake
After breakfast, we drive south along a winding, panoramic coastal road and discover the small town of
Bosa, situated on the Temo River and dominated by the ruins of the 12th-century Castello Malaspina, one of the most beautiful borgos in Italy.
After a stroll through the town, we continue along the coast and via Santa Caterina di Pittinuri to
Cabras, which lies on the lagoon lake of the same name.
Dinner and overnight stay in Cabras.
Kilometer 105
Day 4: Ancient sites by the sea and a sparkling white pebble beach
After breakfast, we head towards the sea, passing the deserted village of San Salvatore, which almost looks like a deserted setting for a Spaghetti Western, and the simple church in San Giovanni di Sinis, on our way to the Tharros peninsula, a rugged headland with dune beaches and the
ruins of the ancient city of Tharros, which was once an important port and trading center.
After so much culture, the sea and the dream beach of Mare Ermi beckon, captivating with its Caribbean-blue waters and, above all, its beach covered with rice-sized pebbles. Other beaches worth seeing are Putzu Iddu and S'Archittu.
On the way back, we recommend a detour to the
archaeological site of Mont'e Prama, where the giant statues of the same name were found and can also be admired in the
Archaeological Museum in Cabras.
Overnight stay in Caras

Day 5: Scottish Impressions of Sardinia
After breakfast, we drive to Riola Sardo, where an
olive oil tasting awaits us.
We continue into the interior of the island to
Fordongianus, which was also called the Forum Trajani in honor of Emperor Trajan. Evidence of this Roman influence is a bridge and a relatively well-preserved thermal complex that can be visited.
After a detour towards Paulilatino, where we visit the
prehistoric well sanctuary of Santa Cristina, hidden among cork oaks, and later the
Nuraghe Losa, we continue to the charming village of
Santa Lussurgiu, built on a volcanic crater. Those who still have energy can visit the Cascata sos Molinos waterfall, about 2 km from the edge of town.
Dinner and overnight stay in Santu Lussurgiu

Along the way, you can visit the Filigoasa necropolis and the Nuraghe of S. Barbara near Macomer. The route leads through the so-called
Valley of the Nuraghi, past the
Romanesque-Pisan church of Santissima Trinita in Saccargia, and finally to
Sassari.
