In recent years, many people in Sardinia become more and more aware of the hidden beauties the island offers. Known for its fine sandy beaches, Sardinia has more to offer, for example many charming small villages with an authentic "borgo", where narrow alleys and historical homes give still an impression of how life was in former times. Some of these homes and "pallazzi" were restored with love and taste to conserve as best the architectural traditions adding all modern comforts. Visiting some of these fine restored mansions, which today are charming B&Bs or Boutique hotels, is a fascinating way to learn more about the atmosphere of the past, the hospitality and the ingrained traditions of this amazing island.
