Separated from the sea only by a narrow strip of white sand, the lagoon is known for its pristine beauty and is home to numerous bird species, including the impressive pink flamingos.
Porto Giunco beach is one of the most famous in Sardinia: it features fine white sand, crystal-clear waters, and a shallow seabed, making it ideal for families and those seeking relaxation.
Villasimìus has numerous supermarkets, local markets, craft shops, restaurants, bars, pizzerias, as well as banks, post offices, gas stations, and a medical service.
The most famous beaches along the coast are Porto Sa Ruxi, Campus, Campulongu, Porto Giunco, Punta Molentis, Simius, Spiaggia del Riso, and Timi Ama Beach.
