Where are the best dog beaches in Sardinia
The dog-friendly and fenced sections on the beach are in general free of charge.
There are some special pet-friendly beaches with payment, offering extra services, like showers, water supply, games, medical care and more.
It is very important that you can show a valid vaccination certificate for the dog on request. Please note, that aggressive dogs (even with a muzzle!) and she-dogs in heat have no access in order to prevent disturbance.

How to bring pets with you in vacation in Sardinia
If you are planning your vacation in Sardinia, you would of course prefer to take your pet with you. So the best solution would be an accommodation at least with a balcony or a patio.
The accommodations can be near to a nice sandy beach or more in the interior, having than a (fenced) garden. The dog-friendly homes are mainly situated in Chia, Costa Rei, Santa Margherita di Pula, Buggerru, San Teodoro and Orosei, Alghero, Bosa
With some preparations, the pet will really enjoy the vacation with its family. First we recommend to consult the veterinarian about the additional vaccinations for dogs in Italy or prophylaxis that are necessary (especially in the case of babesia or leishmania) and if - especially in the summer - the high temperatures are not too strenuous for the beloved four-legged friend.
If the veterinarian gives the green light, you have to read the pet transport conditions for flights and ferries carefully.
While some airlines allow dogs and cats to be taken along with a surcharge, low-cost airlines such as Easyjet and Ryanair do not transport them at all. If the pet inside an airline approved pet carrier weights less than 8 kg, it can stay with you also in the cabin.
Otherwise it has to travel in a special box in an appropriate area in the luggage compartment of the plane. We recommend this only for longer stays, because it can be very stressful for some dogs.
Travelling with cats and dogs on a ferry boat is much more easier, but you should be careful when booking, as there are only a limited number of dog-friendly cabins on the ferries.
Also in this case we recommend to travel with a pet carrier, not only to minimize the disturbance for other travellers, but also for the pet to have a safe place to stay in.
