Why you will enoy it:
The Antico Borgo with ist authentic and charming flats is located in the south-west of Sardina near San Giovanni Suergiu. The area offers beautiful long sandy beaches and is rich of fascinating prehistorical archaeological sites and abandoned mines (some of them can be visited with guided tours). Another place to see is Monte Sirai, an hill nearby Carbonia that hosts the ruins of a Phoenician-Punic settlement.
The position
The Antico Borgo, an ancient villagewhere in earlier times fishermen and farmers lived, is located in the south-west of Sardinia near to the village of San Giovanni Suergiu and about 2 km from a lagoon.At San Giovanni Suergiu are available all basic services like shops and markets, petrol station and much more. More services are available at Carbonia.
A winding and panoramic coast road in the north-west of carbonia connects the communitx of Gonnesa with Masua in the north.
From here one can admire the beautiful and white rockformation Sugarloaf of Nebida (Pan di Zucchero) which emerges out of the sea.
Accommodation
The Antico Borgo is located hillside about 2 km from the sea and surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and vegetable gardens.
The Antico Borg itself consists of semi-detached one- or two-story cottages and here time seems to stand still: the Borgata was recently renovated with attention to detail, authenticity and tradition.
This accurate renovation includes the use of handmade terracotta roof and floor tiles and mud bricks, traditional and antique wooden furniture and of course hand-woven and embroidered draperies.
Each semi-detached house comprises a self-catering apartment with separate entrance and a simple bathroom with shower.
With the exception of one all the flats are located on the ground floor and mostly all have a small front garden with the possibility to sit alfresco.
Each apartment is equipped with authentic furniture and decorated with traditional objects.
The apartments on the ground floor comprise a living room with dining table and chairs and a simple kitchenette.
The bedroom equipped with matrimonial bed is separated from the living room by a room divider, for example a wardrobe or a wall.
The living room is usually equipped with a single bed, on request it is possible to add an extra bed.
