Dorgali - Nuoro (NU)

Dorgali with its 8.200 inhabitants is located about 390 m above sea level on the slope of the Mounta Bardia on the east coast of Sardinia in the seaside Supramonte mountain area. The big village makes part of the province of Nuoro and is about 130 km northeast from Cagliari and 20 km east from Nuoro. Olbia with its international airport and ferry harbor is about 100 km in the north. The nearest beaches are the ones of Cala Gonone reachable on a windy and panoramic road of approx. 9 km.

Located about 10 km away from Dorgali one can visit the prehistoric village of Serra Orrios and the giant's grave of Sa Ena e Thomas. Another interesting sights is the Tiscali cave which houses another Nuraghic village and can be reached with expert guided trekking tours. Worth avisit surely the Ispinigoli cave: with 38 m one of the stalagmites is the highest in Europe!

Dorgali is known for its handycraft, especially for leather and ceramic works, and its tastefully red wine, the Cannonau. The village is also an ideal base for those fond of trekking, biking and free-climbing (we suggest the Cala Fuili bay about 10 km in the south of Cala Gonone).
