Santa Teresa di Gallura - Olbia Tempio (OT)

Santa Teresa Gallura is located in the most northern tip of Sardinia and makes part of the province of Olbia-Tempio. Olbia in the south is about 60 km away. S. Teresa di Gallura has 5.000 inhabitants and from the Spanish fortification tower it is possible to see the Corsica, the French island which is located 12 km in the north. The harbor of S. Teresa di Gallura is connected by regular ferry service to Bonifacio on Corsica.

Worth a visit is Capo Testa, a granite rock formation which was eroded by wind and weather. In the past these rocks were used as a stone pit, for example for some columns of the Leaning Tower at Pisa and allegedly for the Pantheon at Rome.

From the harbor of Palau about 10 km in the south-east it is possible to visit the islands Maddalena and Caprera which make part of the geomarine national park of the La Maddalena Archipelago: beautiful crystal clear sea water and fine sandy beaches and coves invites to sailing trips to enjoy this unique and protected natural beauty.
