Winter specials - Holidays in Sardinia in autumn and winter

Sardinia Natour presents on these pages a choice of accomadations in Sardinia that are suitable for the autumn- and winterholidays, the perfect period for walking and trekking, and to explore the countryside on a mountainbike. The air temperatures are mild and after the summer hustle, the island is back to its normal quiteness.

Also, lively and animated towns like the islands capital Cagliari or Alghero on the Westcoast invite you to shopping trips before Christmas, or to city trips to celebrate Christmas or New Years eve. These towns have all year long connections with airlines like EasyJet, Ryanair, and Air Berlin.
And when it snows in the higher regions like the Gennargentu massif, Sardinia even offers skiing holidays near the village of Fonni on the 1600 m high mountain Monte Spada, the only skiing resort of Sardinia with three pistes with a total length of approximately Km.

The choice of the accomodations, suitable for autumn and winter is wide and there is something for every ones taste and budget. The small and charming hotels, cosy bed-& breakfasts and comfortable apartments and holliday villas are generally equipped with air conditioning that also can be used for heating. Standard heating systems are not common in Sardinia, sometimes there are stoves that provide a pleasant and wholesome heat.

Because of its mild maritime climate, Sardinia is not only worth a visit in spring or summer, but also in autumn and winter: in October the air- and water temperatures can reach 20 degrees, warm enough to jump into the water and enjoy a bath on one of the beautiful sandy beaches along the 1800 km long coastline of the island. The coldest months with the possibility of rainy periods are December and January with approx. 12 degrees. On sunny days there are still chances to reach 20 degrees.
