The charming town of Posada with its 2.600 inhabitants is located on the east coast of Sardinia between Budoni in the north and Siniscola in the south. The popular sea resort San Teodoro is about 25 km in the north, whereas Olbia with its international airport and ferry harbor is about 50 km away.

Posada belongs to the Baronie region and was founded in the 4th century. The modern part of the town is dominated by the ruins of the Castello della Fave, situated on a characteristic lime rock hill and one of the best preserved medieval fortresses in Sardinia. From the castle ruin one can enjoy a wide panoramic view over the fertile lowlands, the shimmering sea and some brautiful sand beaches.

The sea is about 2 km away and easily reachable by car. Famous sandy beaches are the one of Berchida, Capo Comino, Santa Lucia, Sa Preta Ruia, La Caletta and Sa Tiria.

The artificial see Lago di Posada surrounded by shady pine trees and located 10 km in the west of Posada, is a popular destination of the local people in summer and for making picnic in the weekend.
