Porto San Paolo in brief – travel information and more
The municipality of Porto San Paolo on the northeast coast of Sardinia with its approximately 2,500 inhabitants belongs to the province of Olbia-Tempio and is located about 7 km south of Olbia and about 180 km north of the island metropolis Cagliari.
The offshore island of Tavolara, 4 km away from the mainland, with its steep cliffs, like the smaller island of Molara, belongs to the marine park Tavolara Capo Coda Cavallo, is regularly approached from the port of Porto San Paolo. In front of Tavolara, you will find the famous diving area of Secca del Papa (Pit of the Pope). Only a handful of people live on Tavolara itself.
