You can enjoy the most exciting water sports along the kilometre-long Poetto beach, and try activities such as sea-view rock climbing in the paradise of the imposing Sella del Diavolo (Devil’s Saddle). From there, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire Golfo degli Angeli (Gulf of Angels).
Cagliari is the perfect base for exploring the rest of southern Sardinia. You can explore the island’s interior and discover archaeological treasures such as the Nuragic village of Su Nuraxi in Barumini, or sites of great natural interest such as the Sette Fratelli Regional Park and the Monte Arcosu and Monte Arci forests.
The south coast is incredibly diverse, featuring long, fine sandy beaches stretching from Muravera to Villasimius and beautiful coves surrounded by nature. The bays along the coast of Chia and Pula are among the most beautiful.
Southern Sardinia’s coasts are also renowned for their impressive natural dunes, including the exceptionally white dunes of Porto Pino in the far south of the Sulcis region and the vast, desert-coloured dunes of Piscinas on the Costa Verde in the heart of the Iglesiente region.
Cala Pira, Tuerredda, Capo Spartivento, Mari Pintau, Cala Cipolla and Punta Molentis, not to mention the two islands within the island: Sant’Antioco and San Pietro, home to the charming town of Carloforte. There are too many coastal attractions in this part of Sardinia to list them all. They can only truly be experienced by those who experience them first-hand!
